Applications for ICCC 2020 will be discussed in 2012.
The application protocol is as follows:
Preliminary application before December 31, 2011
[by letter or e-mail to the ICCC Executive secretary, J. Reedijk], just referring to organisers, city and dates.
Full application by April 1, 2012
(to be submitted by a senior scientist who has attended regularly previous ICCC's).
Full Applications have to be prepared according to a format addressing a number of specific items/questions in about two pages:
Location (city) of the meeting in the country, and accessibility from an international airport.
Can all delegates stay under one roof (and if not, how much travelling will be required in the mornings).
Availability and suitability of cheap housing for juniors.
Evaluation of previous meetings in that part of the world and attendence from the applying country in the past.
Importance and consequences for the host country to host an ICCC meeting.
Scientific and organisational reputation of the organiser(s), and the likely chairman.
The climate constraints in the given period (ICCC's should be held between the end of June and early September).
The possibility to have all lectures and posters nearby (in the same building if possible) and to have (at least) 4 parallel sessions and to have the posters displayed for the whole conference.
Indication of approximate registration fees (seniors, juniors).
The role of the National Adhering organisation and the main sponsor.
An advisory group of senior previous organisers (not involved in a new application)
will be appointed by the Executive Secretary to evaluate all applications and
make a recommendation to be ratified by the Planning Committee meeting to be
held in September 2012 in Valencia (Spain). The final decision is taken by the
Planning Committee in the absence of PC members from the applying countries.
